In the summer time, the heat of the sun forces its way indoors. Inside industrial premises, especially in warehouses and workshops, which are not equipped with air conditioning, employees are exposed to excess heat. The temperature prevailing inside the premises is usually higher than that outdoor temperature due to the heat emitted from various production machinery, a large number of people working together, lighting equipment and other factors. This leads to reduced productivity, increased number of production mistakes, deteriorating wellbeing of the employees and increasing risk of health disorders.
What is an effective way to cool large and spacious premises with minimum energy used for it? You may use a natural phenomenon – water evaporation. Evaporation is opposite to condensation; it allows cooling down huge amounts of air with the help of water and with low energy consumption.
Conventional air conditioners is not always the best choice for large and spacious premises: because of the large volume of air and the heat produced during the operating process by various electric devices and lighting equipment, air temperature in the premises goes up and may reach 35°C or higher values. Cooling of such air by means of conditioners can be very expensive because of high energy consumption. Conditioners operate on the principle of recirculation – they cool and mix the air taken from within the same room. For large-area premises, it is much more effective to displace hot air to the outside with cooler air. This is the principle of operation of the cooling system ColdAir. Air coolers ColdAir supply fresh, cooled-down air from outdoors into the premises, and force the hot inside air to the outside through open windows and doors. Air coolers ColdAir cool air on the principle of water evaporation: first of all, warm air from the outside passes through wet filters and gives its thermal energy away which is used to evaporate water. Once cooled down by 5 to 7 degrees, the outdoor air is forced into premises in large amounts by means of flow fans; this way, indoor air is replaced with cooler, fresh outdoor air on a continuous basis.
Practically no energy is used to evaporate water; most energy is consumed by the flow fans supplying air. Let’s compare: a cooler ColdAir with the capacity of 13,000 m3/h evaporates 43 l of water and produces 19 kW of cold in an hour by using 1.2 kWh of electric energy (ambient air temperature – 33°C, relative air humidity – 60%); meanwhile, about 5 kWh of electric energy is needed to produce the same amount of cold with a conditioner.
Air coolers ColdAir can be used to cool different types of commercial, industrial, administrative and other premises. This cooling system is especially good for the cases where a large number of heat producing devices are operated inside and where surplus heat needs to be forced out: for example, various furnaces at foundries, metal treatment facilities, a large number of people working together, non-stop lighting, sewing machines, plastic molding machines, etc. Even premises with poor thermal insulation or open spaces can be cooled in an efficient manner with cooling costs remaining at a very low level; furthermore cooling of premises is performed continuously. These coolers are easy to install on a roof, wall or window. They can be used to cool a single common-use premise or different rooms, having installed an air supply system (ductwork). The coolers need minimum maintenance, and their service life is very long.
Evaporative air coolers ColdAir demonstrate premium quality and leading the sales in Italy. The coolers are produced by the Italian company IMPRESIND.
