High productivity and successful integration of new materials allowed the company FLOWAIR to reduce the price, but not the quality of its air curtain ELiS T. The casing from EPP (expanded polypropylene), which was a matter of great interest at the beginning, has become an integral part of the air curtains ELiS T. Thanks to the material, the casing has become lighter, however, remains strong and elastic at the same time. The grey-coloured air curtain ELiS T in the modern design is a multi-purpose unit – it can be mounted both horizontally over doorways and vertically along the side of a doorway. The stronger air blow, which can be adjusted with a three-speed controller makes it possible to mount the air curtain at the height of as many as 4 meters (see Fig. 1). The air from the intake of the unit is preheated by a hot water heat exchanger; meanwhile, the flow fans blow the preheated air out (see Fig. 2). The air curtain ELiS T has water connections on the top and on the left; the heat exchanger has an air relief valve on the right. This allows vertical installation of the air curtain both on the left and right side of a doorway.

Air curtains ELiS T are available in three sizes: 1 m, 1.5 m and 2 m long. Furthermore, the curtains can be mounted in a row to create a screen of required width (2.5 m, 3 m, 3.5 m, etc.). In order the air curtain turned on automatically each time the door is opened, and turned off automatically upon the door closed, a mechanical door contact can be involved. If you want the unit to respond to the signal from a magnetic door contact, the DRV control system module is needed (see Fig. 3). The module can be ordered as an option. DRV is an advanced control system which can be connected to BMS (building management system). To disconnect the heating for the air curtain, a servo valve is needed which stops the supply of hot water to the heat exchanger. The valve is controlled with a thermostat or magnetic door sensor.

Enhanced air flow, decreased weight, attractive design and an even better price make the air curtain an excellent choice for commercial enterprises, public institutions and other places, where an effective air screen is needed to protect heated or cooled premises against cold or hot air forcing from the outside to the inside through a door, which is opened on a constant basis.
